Front-End Developer
Hey, I'm Andrew, a carpenter turned web developer. My passion for building and my attention to detail gives me the ability to pay close attention to every pixel to ensure that any interface I develop is stunning, yet functional. I am a front-end developer based in Toronto, ON. I'm self-taught and always growing my skills, learning something new every day.
I specialize in Front-End Development (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript). I am currently building personal projects with React and Angular!
Previous web projects I have been involved in
Family kitchen is an extension site of Dairy Farmers of Canada. My role within the project was sole Front-End Developer responsible for creating the entire site from PSD's. I worked closely with UX and designers to ensure specifications were maintained throughout development for multiple breakpoints to be highly responsive.
Worked on the multiple Dairy Farmers of Canada sites including the All You Need Is Cheese site. My time was spent working with a combination of CMS(eZ Publish) and hand coding. My tasks included updating blocks of content to incorporate new or updated copy, videos, and images into the site. I would also create new sections of the site by hand coding, working from a PSD.
Avenue A is an exclusive, curated premium athletic apparel subscription program. My work for this project included updating the content of the entire site to include newly released box editions which included copy, images, and videos. All of this work was done by hand coding using html5/css3, ensuring that the site remained highly responsive through the updates.
My role within the project was to work with copywriters and designers to update the site per client request including images, videos, and copy with an emphasis on ensuring the legal copy remained current.
Worked closely with an agile team for this project. Worked with Symfony to create many new web pages leveraging templates or creating new page templates to incorporate new layouts for credit card sign up pages. It was joyfully challenging working with Javascript to incorporate much of the functionality into the page, including geo-location and managing promotion codes correctly.
